Eyeball Art And Jewelry Making

I got to know the art of eyes when I traveled in Nepal. The Buddha Eyes stood high on the monkey temple, as if they were over looking the whole city of Kathmandu and the people of Nepal. Then in the tourist area, I found that a lot of shop selling products with Buddha eyes, calenders, notebook, Nepali carpets, and mostly T-shirts.

The Buddha eyes are the symbol of wisdom, the unity of all the things to reach the enlightenment through Buddha’s teaching. Between the eyes there is a curly symbol like a question mark on the nose and a small third eye on the forehead. The pattern is  the same everywhere. Maybe it is because they are concerned with the national image and Budddha religion.

Now there is a trend inspired by the traditional eye art. People use it more boldly to create magnificent and impressive art works, such as eye painting, eyeball poster, sculptures, etc.

Searching the Internet, it is not hard to find some eye-catching pictures about eyeball art

Some are fun, some creepy, some surprisingly beautiful. Various styles under the theme of eye ball are emerging.

In Dallas, a giant eyeball sculpture was built by Tonny Tasset.

The bold design have attracted people’s attention greatly, and meanwhile brought the art of eyes to a new field.

As a big fan of jewelry, I absolutely keep an eye on the jewelry of the eye art theme. Here are some  awesome piece of jewelries.

Yet there are also punk and metal styles.

Inspiration comes from everything in life. An eye ball theme generates a wide rage of art works. Maybe we should focus on small things and grow them into bigger and stronger. That is one of ways we create.

Ways to Get Ideas for Your Jewelry

Handmade jewelry is HOT. There’s a reason why so many crafty designer types choose to make jewelry, whether to sell, to give to others, or for themselves. So many do it, because people LOVE handmade jewelry. They love to buy it, they love to wear it, and they love to gift it. For most of those who love to DIY their own accessories, maybe the most difficult step is to come up with a good idea for jewelry making. Here I have some ways that I usually use to get ideas.

1. Get ideas from your own collection. Find the things you like and dislike. The jewelries that you bought or collected must have something that you particularly like, whether it is some specific type of materials like beads or rhinestones, or it is in the vintage style, punk style, etc. Find the things you like and list them on the paper. Then the next step is to fine the things that not good enough to satisfy you. then the idea is to turn the things you dislike to the things you like. For example, you like the design of the bracelet, but the color is too dark. So what you need to DIY is to change the color.

2.Look at stores. Go to stores that specialize in jewelry, like Claire’s, or larger stores with jewelry departments, like Macy’s, to get ideas about what you might want to make. The wide selection in stores like these will allow you to get more ideas, as well as helping you stay at the front of fashion trends.

3. Look at others. You can look at the jewelry your friends have, what you see in magazines and the internet, and what your favorite celebrities are wearing. Think about what you like about their jewelry and what pieces you really wish you had for yourself. Decide the general design of the jewelry then add something particularly you in it. It could be some pieces of small design like beads twist, shining element, etc.

4. Look at vintage pieces. In looking at vintage pieces and the history of jewelry, you can see a large number of styles very easily. Examine what aspects of the vintage pieces you like to get ideas for design elements you would like to emulate.

A Vintage Bangle That Expresses Being A Woman

A Vintage Bangle That Expresses A Woman

First of all, I was attracted by its vintage look, coz I am a huge fan of vintage style. Personally I like clothing of the time going with vintage accessories.

Secondly, I was fascinated by the meaning it conveys. The Rose represents for love, a romantic and most important part of a woman’s life; the little Totoro expresses the child side of a woman, which is soft, tender, funny, and innocent; the pearl shows woman’s femininity, her independence and confidence.
